A limited quantity of semen from the Limousin bull Swarland Eddie has again become available on Semenstore priced at £30 per straw (no Semen Royalty).

Swarland Eddie

He’s recently sired the show-stopping commercial crossbred heifer, Khaleesi, who took a historic first Smithfield Overall Championship win for Northern Ireland at Smithfield in 2014.  Bred by James Alexander, Randalstown, she was previously Supreme Champion at Borderway Agri-Expo and Reserve Heifer Champion at LiveScot. Back in May this year, she had also been Reserve Commercial Champion at the Royal Ulster.

Khaleesi 2014 Smithfield Overall Champion

Smithfield Judge Wendy Morgan said of Khaleesi: “She’s an exceptionally well-put-together heifer with a balance of fleshing throughout and a great cover across her loin and her plates.”

Other Show successes to Swarland Eddie’s name have included siring the 2013 Balmoral Commercial Champion Steady Eddie as well as the Reserve Champion Eddie Rocket.

He was originally purchased by James Alexander Carlisle Feb 2011 for 10,000gns when 2nd in his class to the Junior Champion; he’s heavily muscled with wide, square plates, nice bone with natural power and full wide loin.

Swarland Eddie is a real ‘proven’ bull both pedigree-wise and in the commercial market. He offers an outcross of genetics, too, being by Hartsideanew Boumsong (Greenwell Ronick x Eden Senorita) and out of Swarland Valance (Wilodge Riogrande x Swarland Rosanna). To date, 130 pedigree progeny have been registered with the British Limousin Cattle Society on behalf of 30 herds. Pedigree sons have included Jalex Itsallgood, Junior Limousin Champion and Reserve Junior Interbreed Champion at the 2014 Royal Ulster. Itsallgood went on to stand Reserve Junior Male later that year at the Royal Highland before selling in a significant private deal to the Wespit Herd.
